Earth: All of the other planets, except for Earth was named after Greek and roman gods and goddesses. The name Earth is an english\german which simply means the ground. It comes from the old english words ‘eo[th]e’ and ‘ertha’. In German it is erde the name earth and least 10000 years old.
Position in the Solar System: Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun in the solar system. its about 20c in summer and 9c in winter. it takes about 365 days to revolve around the sun - one earth year.
Rotation on its Axis: It takes 24 hours for one full rotation on its axis - one earth day.
