100 world challenge

BANG!!! I woke up suddenly. “There” I heard someone say. “Where” I said with a shaky voice. I hid under the covers. The tiny man uncovered me and gently placed some sun coloured sunglasses on my head . “These are for you” he said in a very small voice. Where's he gone? Why did he come in the first place?

WOOSH the plane just landed. “Are we going to dream world?” I jogged along with mum and dad on the busy footpath. It is hot in Australia.
I took my sunglasses off. “I am so tired” I said say quietly yawning.

This is my picture that gave me my idea

Try doing it???
If you want to try doing this you just need 100 words.  If you do write it in the comment box below

Eggshell geode crystals home learning

Eggshell geode crystals is one of our home learning tasks.

I found the activity really exciting and challenging becauce...

Challenging: this activity was challening with pulling the insides of the eggs out other wise they will go mouldy. This was hard if you don't have long nails. (make sure you don't crack the egg, does not work)

Exciting: This is exciting because you don't know what is going to happen.

I think that the Blue and Red ones did not work so well because they were cracked and the liqid leacked out.

This is the website that I got instructions off:

Here is some photos of them...
Blue: sugur, Red: salt, Yellow: salt and Green: baking soda

The secret tub

I hopped into the tub after dinner for a bath last night. When I hopped in the  bath, the shower curtain drifted in the bath tub with me. The tap turned around and started to fill up the room. The bath tub started to lift up. I didn't know what I was going to do.

I decided to stay in the tub and see what was going to happen. Then a hole in the wall opened and the tub went through and started to go faster down a tunnel. A bit of light appeared. It was like looking into the sun. WOW! There was sealife, turtles and the bright blue clear sky. This is not what normally happens. This must be magic.

I was thinking why am I still dry, even though there was water in the bath. How could I not be wet? Is this what I am thinking or is this magic?

Now there was more sea life including fish, sea otters and all the sea animals you could imagine. I was wondering if I will see a dolphin?

I had turned the tap off on the bathtub. The bathtub sped along the flat surface of the water. My eyes were searching for a dolphin because I wanted to ride on one.

Look there is a dolphin! My eyes were wide open. This is so exciting!

What could happen tomorrow with my secret bathtub? Will the secret bathtub do the same thing tomorrow? Will the bath tub take me somewhere else? The water smells like salt, how can I smell salt??

I shut my eyes and then opened them again it was still the same. What could be going on? “This must me a dream,” I said to myself.  But this was not a dream!

“How would I get home?”
“What if I can't get home?”
“What if I'm cold? “
“What if I have no friends?”
“What if I'm hungry?”

All these questions I had thought of well I was on my trip with my secret bathtub.

When I woke up I was sitting in the hospital bed with Mum, Dad, George and the nurse standing over my asking if I was ok. “What do you mean?” I said to everybody. Mum told me what had happened to me.

Mum said that I was drowning in the bath. “Was I in the bath?” I asked in confusion.
“Yes you were.”
“Was I wet?”
“Yes you were.” Mum looked happy that I was OK.

As I walked slowly out of the hospital Mum said, “I love you Rebecca.”
“I love you too Mum.”

Anzac Poem

Anzac Poem!
Sitting in the trenches.
Sand bags sitting patently next to me.
My helmet sitting on my head.
The smoke flying like a bird.
The gas exploding like power in the sky.
Mud soaking up the water like a starw
The pick axe eating the mud as I swing.
Standing buildings crumbling down.
Trees swing like the wind.
Trenches lying on the ground like vaindes.
War is my whole life now!

Teddy One-Eye

Teddy One-Eye
By Gavin Bishop
Teddy One-Eye is an autobiography of a teddy bear (Teddy One-Eye). The main characters are Teddy One-Eye also known as Mr Edward K. Bear, Boy, BB also known as Baby Boy, Grandmother, Mum and Dad. Teddy One-Eye is given to Boy when BB is born because BB is not old enough yet to be played with. Boy keeps on sneaking off to different places. His Grandmother complains about Teddy One-Eye because he is a very special bear. Grandma knows this because she knows the full story of Teddy One-Eye. Read this book to figure out what Grandma knows and the full story of Teddy One-Eye. You can get it out from the Selwyn Library or from the Springston School Library.
We recommend Teddy One-Eye for children that are confident readers and are year 3 and up. We would rate Teddy One-Eye ten stars out of five!!!!!
We hope you would like to read this book. Read to find out more about the book

My pony and I

 My pony and I
By Sonya

My pony Jazz at Games day.

The day I meet my pony Parikiore Just Jazz!!
The day has come, the time is here we all got up and could not wait. We were all hypo in till we got in the car. Dad said that we were going to Ashburton to look at the pony.
So we drove down to Ashburton. When we were looking for Tracy's house she was standing outside wanting for us to come.
I went with Tracy to get the pony from the paddock. She was in a paddock with dry mud everywhere with no food and old soccer, netball and rugby balls to play with.
She was beautiful. Tracy said that the pony's name was Jazz.
Mum grabbed Raewyn’s saddle from the car. We put the saddle on Jazz. She was very good with the girth. Tracy said said I could put Jazz’s bridle on. When Jazz was nearly ready for me to hop on mum said that I need to check her girth before I could hop on.
Jazz was a flaxen mane and tail flaxen chestnut with a blaze 4 white socks. Her show name is Parikiore  Just Jazz and her paddock name is Jazz. She is a calm pony that does not need to be pushed forward.
Tracy was doing inhand showing with Jazz. Tracy was canterbury in inhand showing in a low showing. Jazz has been to A&P shows with her showing.
Mum said that I could ride Jazz around the paddock. She was a kick-along pony. I asked Tracy for a whip, but she said that I just need to use my legs. I walked and trotted around and around the paddock.
After I had done my ride on Jazz, Mum hopped on and walked, trotted and cantered Jazz in a circle. When Mum was cantering Jazz she tried to buck, but Mum held her head up, so she couldn't.
I cooled her down and took her gear off, brushed and hugged Jazz.We had to decide if we were going to by Jazz today because there was someone looking for her on saturday. Mum and dad went off and said that they were taking the saddle to the car.
When they came back they said that they had some exciting news for me. I said ‘’what is it?’’ Well, we are thinking that we are going to buy Jazz for you! WOW!!!  Mum told Tracy.
We looked at the gear that we were going to get with her. Her gear that we are going with here is a bridle, a summer cover, an old winter cover, a new winter cover and her headcollar and rope. I wanted Jazz’s fancy browband
I put Jazz back into her paddock with dry mud. Mum arranged with Tracy that we will pick Jazz up from the show. That was good because I was going there to on Chrimar for a games
Tracy asked for us to send her pictures of Jazz and I doing things together. Tracy asked me if I wanted Jazzs main plated? I said I would like her main plated. With our exciting thoughts we drove home.
