Hexagons

We have set the hexagons like this because that is what we think that it should look like. We have been learning about this in inquiry and are using what we have learnt to do this. We were focusing on Newtons 3 laws.

Hegagon

For inquiry this term we have been focusing on the A+ characteristics. For this activity Lottie and I have worked together using the adapting strategy. We had to plan and connect to create a hexagon chart to show how we grow.

The Rail trail

The Rail Trail!!

I got to school and put my bike away and went to join Jump Jam. I went inside for a talk while we waited for the truck to come that was going to take the bikes down to Little River. When the truck arrived we went and got our bikes so that we could get them on the truck. It was a mad rush out the door. I gave my bike to people to lift onto the truck and then got into the car. It was a short drive to Little River with us chatting away in the back of the car. Lucy dropped us off at Little River. The bike truck was already there unloading all the bikes. All the parents went back and dropped all the cars off while we had Morning tea.

All the biking parents came back and we split off into groups. I was with Lily, Charlise, Katie and Jess R. Lily and I stopped because I thought I had lost by bike computer. It was a lovely view of the crystal blue lake on the side of the path. A little way down the path Stella’s bike wheel had got stuck and didn't want to move. We waited and waited for Wendy who was at the back to come and help fix it, but we were soon back on our way. The view was even better here than it was before.

Soon enough we were stopping again for a drink. Now we had past the lake and now we were on a dirt track with grass each side that covered the land like a blanket. My legs got tired as the ride went on.

We saw lots of parents that came to take photos. Soon after that we could see the others stopped to have lunch. They were little spots on top of a big cliff. I said to myself “Do we really need to bike up that big mountain?” The time had gone very quickly because we were at the lunch spot in no time. And luckily we did not need to bike up that big hill, but you could climb up there if you wanted to and I decided to do that even though Lily did not want to. It was an amazing view from the top. When I got back down I tried to persuade Lily to go up there but she said “it was too much effort.”

Soon after we stopped we were off again to finish the 23k. (We are only half way through then). This half seemed to go quicker but I think it was longer after lunch than before. But we did have more stops because Lily had a sore bottom. We saw another lake with sheep in it. In wasn't really a lake, it was more of a mud pond with some water in (just enough for the sheep to drink out of). It reminded me of the blanket on my bed. The lake patton was lots of hexagons made out of mud. It was so hot with the flaming hot sun glaring down at us. I raced to the finish and waited for the others that weren't in any kind of rush to get to the finish. I felt like I could do it all again!!
